The 3rd edition of Early Childhood Week

From November 18 to 24, 2018, Early Childhood Week will be in full swing throughout Quebec for the third year in a row. Early Childhood Week, which involves many partners who work with children and families, aims to engage the entire population around early childhood to make it a priority.

Once again, this year, the FNQLHSSC is encouraging First Nations communities and organizations to organize activities and take concrete action throughout this week to focus on young children ages 0 to 5 years. In the coming weeks, documents and materials developed for First Nations and Inuit as part of Early Childhood Week will be sent to the communities. Ghislain Picard, Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador, has proudly accepted to be the First Nations’ ambassador for this third edition.

A major event will be added to this year’s programming for Early Childhood Week. Indeed, the FNQLHSSC will have the opportunity to contribute to the organization of The Grand Rally for the Little Ones, which will be taking place on November 20 and 21, 2018 in Québec City. This event, which will bring together nearly 600 participants, mainly political leaders and other early childhood stakeholders at the local, regional and provincial levels, is an opportunity to commit to implementing the collective actions needed to foster the optimal development of children in the province, especially those ages 0 to 5 years. First Nations and Inuit political representatives will be invited to participate to take another step towards the development and wellness of children and families through dialogue, openness and collaborative work with a multitude of stakeholders and networks.
