The communities mobilize for healthy lifestyle habits in First Nations communities

On October 24 and 25, more than thirty sport and physical activity interveners gathered at the Delta Hotel in Montréal. The purpose of the two-day event was to promote sport development services as well as intervener and coaching certifications, to present the structure of sport in Quebec and, most importantly, to create a network of interveners to promote the sharing of good practices in sport and the exchange of information about sport and physical activity between communities in Quebec.

The richness of the discussions and the commitment of all the participants made this meeting a most profitable event.

In addition to hosting various provincial sport organizations and learning about their services, participants were able to see some initiatives being promoted in other communities in Quebec.

This first meeting with sport and physical activity interveners revealed the impressive leadership present in the communities. Despite a lack of funding for sport and physical activities, communities are mobilized to get people to be more active and develop healthy lifestyles.

A big thank you to all participants and congratulations for your commitment!
