Childcare staff

Our collaboration with childcare staff

Contributing to their development

We contribute to the development of actions and strategies related to the development and learning of children aged 0 to 6 years. Our team supports First Nations communities wishing to acquire and continuously improve their educational childcare services. We can offer advice in areas such as planning educational activities, interventions to be favoured and values to be transmitted to children, developing nutritious and healthy menus, optimizing communication between educators and families, etc. We also offer specific training, develop tools and promote a holistic approach.

As part of its mandate, we are called upon to sit on various committees in order to always keep abreast of the latest developments in early childhood, while ensuring the involvement of First Nations in these areas.

Supporting childcare services

The agreement between the FNQLHSSC and the Ministère de la Famille grants the FNQLHSSC responsibilities related to the First Nations childcare centres and day care centres. We handle the following responsibilities:

  • Issuing, renewing, revoking or suspending childcare centre or day care centre permits.
  • Inspecting childcare centres and day care centres.
  • Processing complaints.
