Providing social services expertise and support

Promoting population wellness

We support the First Nations communities in the area of social services by offering them technical support and expertise in their activities related to suicide prevention, the promotion of healthy and non-violent relationships, the protection of youth and the fight against addictions. Our team helps interested communities to set up, improve and promote quality health and social services and programs that are designed by First Nations organizations.

Supporting skills development and practice

Through our work, we help social services workers to provide children and extended families with services that take into account the culture and context of their respective communities. Our strategy is primarily focused on ensuring the wellness of young children and families and we prioritize preventive care and the child’s best interests.

Our support is reflected in the creation and provision of tools, publications, advice and training. In addition, we provide assistance to the resource persons concerned to enable them to implement measures to reduce addiction.
