Team Eastern Door and the North<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new Chef de Mission for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Eastern Door and the North (EDN) is very pleased to announce the appointment of its Chef de Mission: M\u00e9d\u00e9rik Sioui, member of Abitibiwinni First Nation of Wendat origin, who will lead the team for the 2023 edition of the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e9d\u00e9rik taught history at Kiuna College, and for nearly five years now, he has held the position of Communications Manager at the FNQLHSSC. M\u00e9d\u00e9rik, who has always enjoyed getting involved with young people, considers the Chef de Mission mandate to be a privilege and an opportunity to be able to spend more time with First Nations youth. M\u00e9d\u00e9rik will be surrounded by a seasoned, experienced and committed mission team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection camp status<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selection process for the members of the various sports teams is almost complete. The selection camps took place across the province, from Kahnawake to Uashat, and Qu\u00e9bec City to Mashteuiatsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to thank the coaches who organized these camps in order to assemble their respective teams. Their colossal efforts have enabled many athletes to demonstrate their talents and benefit from an unforgettable sporting experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team EDN would like to highlight the participation of these young people in the various selection camps, to which they showed up well trained and motivated to compete against the best First Nations and Inuit athletes in Quebec. Congratulations to all participants for your efforts and commitment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Aboriginal Hockey Championships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FNQLHSSC is currently preparing for Team EDN\u2019s participation in the next National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC), which will take place from May 6 to 14, 2023 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Team EDN will be represented by a men\u2019s team and a women\u2019s team made up of athletes born between 2005 and 2009. Details of the selection camp will be announced shortly, and all information will be posted on the team\u2019s Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
