Call for Applications for the Indigenous Community Corrections Initiative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Safety Canada has just lauched a Call for Applications for the Indigenous Community Corrections Initiative (ICCI) to address over-representation of Indigenous people in Canada\u2019s Justice system. Applications can be submitted until June 12, 2023, 11:59pm, Pacific Standard Time (PST).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look at the applicant guide<\/a> to get instructions on how to apply and who are the eligible organizations. Assistance is available in advance of the submission of an application to answer general questions. Please direct inquiries to the Indigenous Community Corrections Initiative<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec en Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue invites you to an Indigenous conference luncheon on April 20, 2023, from noon to 1:00 p.m.<\/strong> Emmanuel Bertrand-Gauvin, Strategic Projects Coordinator at the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission, will discuss the Bear movement, which allows for the protection and affirmation of Indigenous identity, particularly in the area of economic development. Webinar on the principles of research in an Indigenous context<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Table de travail sur les r\u00e9alit\u00e9s autochtones of the R\u00e9seau de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec invites you to attend a webinar on the principles of research in an Indigenous context with professors Suzy Basile (UQAT) and Carole L\u00e9vesque (INRS) on April 25, 2023 at noon<\/strong>. This webinar, offered in French only, will provide an overview of the terms and conditions of Indigenous research. An example of an ongoing project will also be presented. Graduate scholarships for First Nations and Inuit students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the Fonds de recherche du Qu\u00e9bec (FRQ) is offering six scholarships to First Nations and Inuit master\u2019s students in the following fields: health, nature and technology as well as society and culture. AQIISM Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Association qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise des infirmi\u00e8res et infirmiers en sant\u00e9 mentale (AQIISM) will hold its 39th annual conference on June 1 and 2, 2023 at the Delta Hotel in Sherbrooke. CAHS Releases Health Human Resources Assessment Report<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) released its report on health human resources (HHR) in Canada.  The report, titled \u201cCanada\u2019s Health Workforce: Pathways Forward\u201d, provides key findings designed to inform stakeholders (including governments). Nomination for the Lieutenant-governor’s of Qu\u00e9bec First Peoples Medal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nomination period for the First Peoples Medal – First Nations and Inuit Nation is open until May 31, 2023. This recognition highlights the careers of remarkable individuals who, through their achievements, their involvement and their commitments, contribute to the influence of their community, their Nation or the First Peoples at the Qu\u00e9bec or Canadian level or even internationally. Federal failure to fully implement diversity analysis excludes equity-seeking groups: Senate committee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The federal government has not fully implemented intersectional analysis, known as GBA Plus, into its policy process, the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology said in a report released Thursday, March 30, 2023. The report reveals that the government has not been able to fully consider the diverse needs and experiences of marginalized and equity-seeking groups, including women and Indigenous people.
