Prix Hommage A\u00een\u00e9s<\/strong>\r\n<\/strong>The Quebec government’s Prix Hommage A\u00een\u00e9s recognizes the contribution of a senior volunteer in his or her region, promoting the well-being of seniors and their increased participation in society. Find out more<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funding \u2013 Climate  change initiative<\/strong>\r\nThe FNQLSDI has been given the mandate to support First Nations leadership in the climate transition by funding community projects. To this end, the Minist\u00e8re de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP), has granted an envelope of 6,3M dollars as part of the Green Economy Plan 2030. Tahatikonhsont\u00f3ntie\u2019s funding opportunities<\/strong>\r\nERRSA-Qc invites you to participate in its annual graduate scholarship competition. The organization will award two (2) master’s scholarships and one (1) doctoral scholarship. The goal of the graduate scholarship program is to foster the acquisition of research skills and support the training of Aboriginal students (First Nations, M\u00e9tis or Inuit) for their master’s and doctoral degrees at a Quebec institution. Joyce Echaquan Scholarship<\/strong>\r\nUQAT and INRS launch the call for applications to the second scholarship Joyce Echaquan.<\/em> This scholarship is offered by the Fonds de recherche du Qu\u00e9bec who wishes to support the professor\u2019s Suzy Basile (UQAT) and Carole L\u00e9vesque (INRS) initiative who awarded a $36 000 scholarship over two years to an Indigenous student at the Master’s level. This scholarship was created in memory of Joyce Echaquan with the support of her family.\r\n\r\nTo be eligible, the students must be registered as a graduate student at UQAT or INRS for the Fall 2024 term. The completed file must be submitted to reseaudialog@ucs.inrs.ca<\/a> no later than June 30, 2024<\/strong>. Register now<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Call for projects to support the vitality of Aboriginal cultures, languages and media launched\r\n<\/strong>The Minist\u00e8re de la Culture et des Communications has launched a call for projects to promote Indigenous cultures, languages and media, as part of the Appel de projets pour les Autochtones program. The call for projects, which will run until May 17, 2024<\/strong>, is part of the government’s Action Plan for the Social and Cultural Well-Being of First Nations and Inuit 2022-2027. Health Careers \u2013 2024 Summer jobs\r\n<\/strong>The First Nations and Inuit Health Careers Program is specifically designed to encourage and support First Nations and Inuit participation in educational opportunities leading to professional careers in a health field. This Program funds summer jobs for First Nations and Inuit studying at College and University in a field related to health. These jobs must be available within Qu\u00e9bec Aboriginal communities or non-profit Aboriginal organizations providing direct services to First Nations and Inuit of Qu\u00e9bec.
