To better guide you in understanding the CDCP, the FNQLHSSC is answering these questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:26px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\"><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW260265543 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW260265543 BCX0\">What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW260265543 BCX0\">?&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW260265543 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a new program that provides a limited range of dental care services to all Canadians, including First Nations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are certain eligibility criteria that must be met:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You don\u2019t have access to dental insurance. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span class=\"TextRun SCXW267075976 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW267075976 BCX0\">If you have dental coverage through a federal government social program such as the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, you may be eligible for the CDCP. Do I have to register with the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199097240 BCX0\">CDCP<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199097240 BCX0\">?&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW199097240 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW210813943 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW210813943 BCX0\">Registration with the CDCP is on a voluntary basis. The services covered by both programs are very similar. However, you should use the <a href=\"https:\/\/cssspnql.com\/en\/services-en\/services-de-sante-non-assures\/\">NIHB Program <\/a>first if you are eligible.&nbsp;<\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rates reimbursed by the NIHB Program sometimes differ from the amounts billed by providers. These residual costs will not be eligible for reimbursement by the CDCP. If a service is covered by the CDCP but not by the NIHB program, it can be submitted to the CDCP for payment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\"><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW170998783 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW170998783 BCX0\">How to apply for the CDCP<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW170998783 BCX0\">?&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW170998783 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration applications have been taking place in phases since December 2023. Since June 2024, individuals aged 65 and over and individuals aged 18 and under have been able to apply online. You can no longer use it.
