This article explores, in a little more detail, the different stages of this project, which took place over more than a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FNQLHSSC had already started reflecting on its site for quite some time. In 2018, it carried out a communication audit with its clientele and, in 2019, it produced a reflection report for a possible redesign. The communication audit made it possible to paint a portrait of the needs and preferences of its clientele with regard to communication tools and the reflection report outlined the site redesign in a broad fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective was to create a platform that would allow for supporting First Nations health and social services workers in their work. More specifically, the new site was to make it possible to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Better target site content in order to highlight the services offered, publications and events.<\/li><li>Present information in a simple and intuitive way so that Internet users are able to find what they need quickly, no matter the function they occupy.<\/li><li>Review the information disseminated so that it is timeless. In the past, the structure and contents of the pages were inspired by the FNQLHSSC\u2019s organizational chart or the programs of the federal and provincial governments.<\/li><li>Focus on the services offered by the FNQLHSSC, while taking into account that changes could occur, in particular due to the organizational diagnosis of the FNQLHSSC as well as the health and social services governance process.<\/li><li>Showcase the achievements of communities.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project approach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to counting on the participation of many sectors of the FNQLHSSC, the redesign was also an opportunity to seek the collaboration of various community representatives. Indeed, a few weeks prior to the official launch, focus groups made up of people from different communities and occupying various positions (e.g., health and social services directors, childcare centre directors, etc.) were called upon to provide feedback on the site to see if it met their needs and if the information was easy to find. Overall, the comments received were very positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Next steps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The documentation centre has also undergone a makeover and you should soon be able to see the results.
