To mark Violence Awareness Week, which took place from October 12 to the 16, the FNQLHSSC was invited by the community of Unamen Shipu to present the Introduction to Youth Protection and the Rights of Parents<\/a> training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This training is made up of two modules. The first, dealing with the basic concepts in youth protection, is for workers working in other domains to enable them to better understand the work of interveners and better support their clients being followed in youth protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second module on the rights of parents and the extended family provides information on parental responsibilities and the rights of parents followed under the Youth Protection Act<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About fifteen people took part in this training which allowed participants to discuss with each other and the trainers and ask various questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentation of the book titled My Rights and Me<\/em><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the FNQLHSSC also took advantage of its visit to the community to present its book titled My Rights and Me<\/em>, a children\u2019s story inspired by the Declaration of the Rights of First Nations Children, which explains to First Nations children their rights in a simple and fun way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beautifully illustrated by 16 young people from various communities, this book is dedicated to all First Nations children in Quebec to enable them to become aware of their fundamental and inherent rights in all aspects of their life and development, for the benefit of their health, safety and wellness.
