Police profiling: New book with a fresh perspective on practices<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

AFNQL Chiefs denounce the CAQ government\u2019s lack of sensitivity towards their territories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 13th, 2022, the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) learned, through the media, that a Quebec Summit on Land Use Planning would be held virtually on January 27th. Not only does the program that has been unveiled completely ignore the concerns, rights, and claims of First Nations, but this announcement also goes against what Minister Laforest stated to AFNQL Chiefs during her participation in the First Nations and Quebec Grand Economic Circle, last November, in Montreal. New safer injecting wallet cards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CATIE\u2019s pocket-sized wallet card Mapping the Body: Choosing a Vein for Safer Injection<\/em> displays a map of where it is safer to inject drugs on the body, where it is less safe, and where it is dangerous. It has been updated this year to include more inclusive imagery and overdose prevention information. Indigenous lunch-and-learns for Winter 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indigenous lunch-and-learns, organized by the School of Indigenous Studies, are back with an offer of online events for all those interested in Indigenous-related issues. The next session\u2019s program offers various topics geared to address a number of issues, including food sovereignty, politics of Indigenous women in Quebec, an author\u2019s writing journey, customary adoption in Quebec as well as missing or deceased Indigenous children.
