Support in nutrition for pregnant women and early childhood (Fondation Olo)<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fondation Olo now has in a project manager – Collaboration with Indigenous communities on its team. Her mandate is to support First Nations and Inuit communities and populations free of charge, in order to build together or improve the services offered in nutrition for pregnant women and early childhood. The collaboration could take several forms, to be determined according to local needs. La Tabl\u00e9e des Chefs’<\/em> Cook Up Your Future<\/em> Program<\/strong>\u00a0

The Cook Up Your Future is a free\u202fprogram that aims to support the transition into adulthood of vulnerable youth by developing their food autonomy through three components: culinary kits, culinary workshops and employability training.\u202f In order to provide young people with the tools they need, La Tabl\u00e9e des Chefs wishes to help the people who work with them to implement the first part of the program in First Nations and Inuit communities. Therefore, 250 culinary kits will be offered to youth aged 16 to 17 who are preparing for independent living. These kits contain: a La Tabl\u00e9e des Chefs cookbook, a lunch bag, a magnetic grocery list, a set of measuring cups and spoons, a wooden spoon and spices. A companion guide, designed to facilitate the use of the kits by youth workers is also included in each kit. Visioning the Future<\/em> is a series of webinars offering a vision for First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis peoples\u2019 public health. Learning Objectives are to examine current inequities in mental and physical health among First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis populations, to consider the social, political, and historical contexts that have been the fundamental drivers of these inequities to understand how re-establishing Indigenous Peoples\u2019 health systems and ways of knowing and being are vital to overturning these inequities and to Explore practical strategies for achieving health equity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
