FNQLHSSC Annual General Assembly: The culture of collaboration at the service of the First Nations health and social services governance process<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wendake, July 18, 2022<\/strong> \u2013 After two years of the pandemic, the members of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) were happy to gather at the Hotel Le Bonne Entente for the 2022 Annual General Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the elections that took place on the Thursday morning, the composition of the Board of Directors was renewed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President:<\/strong>                                                        Derek Montour, Kahnawake<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice-President of Health:<\/strong>                             David McLaren, Kebaowek<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice-President of Social Services:<\/strong>               Amanda Larocque, Gesgapegiag<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secretary-Treasurer:<\/strong>                                       Marceline Tshernish, Uashat mak Mani-Utenam<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Board members:<\/strong>                                   Priscilla Pichette, Winneway<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marie-Andr\u00e9e Basile, Ekuanitshit<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                                                            Jean Vollant, Odanak<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FNQLHSSC would like to thank the Board members for their boundless dedication to the organization and First Nations communities and organizations. The FNQLHSSC would also like to express its sincere gratitude to the outgoing members for their dedication and involvement as it welcomes its new members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special thank you to the participants for their valuable commitment and contribution to the discussions on the Quebec First Nations health and social services governance process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day before its Annual General Assembly, the FNQLHSSC established the community and collective needs of First Nations with the objective of developing the service offer of the future regional health and wellness body. The proposed conference and the discussions, which took place in a hybrid format, focused on the culture of collaboration, an important concept in achieving our common goal: improving the wellness of First Nations. The discussions also made it possible to agree on the next steps related to the co-development of a model that responds to our realities as part of the health and social services governance process of our peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Annual General Assembly, the President, Derek Montour, was invited to share his report followed by the annual report of the FNQLHSSC detailing the progress on its mandates. The financial statements for the year as well as the 2022-2023 organizational plan were also presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
