Federal funding \u2013 Natural Infrastructure Fund (NIF)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 14, the Government of Canada annonced that it was now accepting applications for new projects through the Small Projects Stream of the Natural Infrastructure Fund (NIF). A minimum of ten percent of the program will be allocated to Indigenous-led projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forced Sterilization \u2013 Part II of the report<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For your information, the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights published the second part of its report on forced sterilizations in Canada. This includes 13 recommendations you will find from pages 41 to 43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Gathering for Indigenous Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized by Indsprire, the National Gathering<\/em> is a place where educators and partners can share their voices and work together to improve the educational outcomes of Indigenous students. The conference will be held from November 23 to 25, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indigenous tourism \u2013 New study from L\u00e9ger Marketing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, L\u00e9ger Marketing publish a new study that indicates that Quebecers not only want to better understand the Indigenous cultures in Quebec, but are also keen on meeting Indigenous peoples. Indeed, 90% of respondents indicate a favorable opinion of Indigenous communities, as well as an interest in taking part in an Indigenous activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New hockey scholarship program for First Nations (frenchspeakers only)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CDFM associated with the ex-hockey player Jo\u00e9 Juneau<\/em> to offer a new hockey scholarship program launching on September, 2022. The students must have 16+ years old and must have not finished high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drowning prevention \u2013 Toolbox<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As water sports are growing in popularity (paddleboarding, canoeing, open water swimming, etc.), promoting water safety becomes even more important. To  promote safe water behaviour and help prevent drowning, the Lifesaving Society proposes a variety of games and tools on it\u2019s website: https:\/\/societedesauvetage.org\/snpn\/boite-a-outils\/.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
