The New Pathways Foundation, in collaboration with Breakfast Club of Canada and the First Nations of Quebec
\nand Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC), organised a First Nations Leadership
\nCamp that was held on October 1 to 6, 2014, at the Tim Hortons Camp des voyageurs located in Quyon, on
\nAnishnabe territory in Outaouais.
\nFrom 16 Aboriginal communities in Quebec, 45 young people ages 10 to 14 years who are living in or have lived
\nin foster families participated in this first Camp which was exclusively intended for the First Nations communities
\nin Quebec. The purpose of this initiative was to recognise young people who do not necessarily have the
\nopportunity to participate in these types of activities and who have distinguished themselves in terms of their
\nleadership potential either individually or through their families, communities or schools.
\nThe activity allowed the youth to develop their self-esteem and return to their communities with the strength
\nand courage needed to achieve the goals they have set for themselves and their communities. Over the
\ncourse of six days, First Nations youth from across Quebec who were chosen for their motivation took this
