It also presents the unprecedented advances in federal legislation, An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and M\u00e9tis children, youth and families, which explicitly recognizes the inherent self-government rights of First Nations, including jurisdiction over child and family services, which includes the power to legislate to design, organize and implement their own services.
