This is a unique opportunity for First Nations and Inuit women in Quebec to share their stories and give testimonies in a context that respects the principles of research involving Indigenous peoples (Asselin and Basile, 2012).<\/p>\n<p>To our knowledge, no study has yet been done on this subject in Quebec, so the research project is novel in this sense and meets a real need to perform further research on the issue. Research on the imposed sterilization of First Nations and Inuit women also sheds light on the issues underlying this problem.
