General objective
Experiment with the approach and process of clinical supervision.

The specific objectives of the training course are to:
• Define the process of clinical supervision.
• Relate to this process of clinical supervision.
• Relate to a supervisory approach.
• Experiment with the supervisory approach through use of the following exchange processes:

  •  Group supervision: professional co-development.
  • Individual supervision:
    ✓encourage reflection;
    ✓support the search for solutions;
    ✓offer feedback.

Learning environment:
Using A Practical Guide for Clinical Supervisors Working with First Nations Clientele.
• Based on participants’ experiences, clinical supervisors/clinical practitioners.
• By sharing situations and real cases.
• Highlighting, at all times, the participants’ recourse to resources:

  • By encouraging reflection;
  • By supporting the search for solutions;
  • By offering feedback and encouraging exchange between participants.

Through participant involvement based on learning exercises and by encouraging exchange and networking between persons with the same duties.

Teaching approach:
• Short theoretical modules based on the Guide and a PowerPoint presentation.
• A variety of learning activities: reflection, experience sharing, real learning exercises, real-life-situation
clinical supervision, simulations, etc.

Duration of the training course:
Two seven-hour days of training
