Logo

The first FNQLHSSC logo was created by an Innu artist from the Mashteuiatsh community, Marie-Ève Dubé Courtois. Since it is used on various promotional items, in social media and on all of the FNQLHSSC’s printed productions, a redesign was essential. However, the strengths of the former logo have been preserved, namely the colours, the circle, the Canada goose and the sun rays (half-circles).
The Canada goose, which can be seen flying over the entire territory of Quebec and Labrador, symbolizes the FNQLHSSC mission. The four feathers represent the mission’s four key elements:
- Physical wellness
- Mental wellness
- Emotional wellness
- Spiritual wellness
The Canada goose is looking ahead to the future (First Nations governance). It accompanies the First Nations towards their self-determination.
The eleven rays of sunlight represent the ten First Nations and Inuit of Quebec and Labrador:
The sans serif font was chosen for its classic, easy-to-read and aesthetic appearance. The text is aligned with the Canada goose, which creates a balance between the image and the text, and reflects the stability and professionalism of the FNQLHSSC. Using the four original colours of the medicine wheel was a given.
Note that, for the bilingual version, the font is smaller to accommodate the number of lines necessary to spell out the full name of the FNQLHSSC in English and in French. The use of the FNQLHSSC or CSSSPNQL acronym shall be used exceptionally for promotional items.
The FNQLHSSC logo must be used on all FNQLHSSC publications, unless a specific exception has been approved by the latter.
Any person wishing to use the FNQLHSSC logo must contact info@cssspnql.com
The above applications are the only colour combinations allowed for the FNQLHSSC logo.
The logo appearing on all productions involving the FNQLHSSC must always show only the four colours indicated in the “Graphic Universe” section. Monochrome productions must use the reverse logo on a dark background, or apply the print colour chosen on a light background.
For a photocopy application, the logo must be 100% black on a white background; the reverse type shall not be tolerated. The use of raster graphics is forbidden, as this affects readability.
