Diabetes Québec is a non-profit association that has been serving people living with diabetes for over 65 years. Its mission is to provide diabetes-related information, awareness and prevention.
Diabetes Québec advocates on behalf of people living with diabetes among governments, health services and businesses. It also promotes the advancement of diabetes research by providing scholarships to students and researchers each year. Through their Universi-D diabetes school, they offer courses for people living with diabetes and accredited training for healthcare professionals.
Since 1980, Diabetes Québec has been receiving professional guidance. Under the chairmanship of Dr. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret, 11 experts offer scientific guidance to the organization. They also identify action priorities for the training of people living with diabetes as well as health professionals. They ensure compliance with the ethical and moral standards of Diabetes Québec.
