Each week, we compile news on health, wellness, social services and First Nations, which is organized by category of our service offer. As a result, people in charge of the service offer can disseminate information specific to their field, or any other news relevant to First Nations.

Scholarships, awards and grants
Advance notification: NHSP Call for proposals 2025-2026 The Government of Canada has launched the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) 2025-2026 call for proposals (CFP) for community-based projects.
The deadline to submit applications: September 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
Call for applications: OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Program 2026
The aim of the programme is to give indigenous persons the opportunity to gain knowledge about the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights issues in general and indigenous issues in particular.
Award in Genomic Medicine and Indigenous Health
McGill University is inviting applications for a special award of $25,000 to both recognize excellence in Genomic Medicine and Indigenous Health, and to support ongoing research.
Improving access to healthy food
The Local Food Infrastructure Fund (LFIF) supports community-led projects that strengthen food systems and help to facilitate access to safe and nutritious food. Grants are available to help prevent hunger through investments in infrastructure needs. Learn more or apply here.
Nature Destination
This program is intended for communities (school groups, youth centres, community centres, treatment centres, adult education centres, etc.) that wish to organize outdoor excursions to a national or regional park located within 150 km.
Funding covers:
- bus or other vehicle rental,
- gasoline costs,
- participant admission fees.
The goal is to encourage groups of 15 or more people to discover and enjoy outdoor activities, and to make these experiences more accessible to everyone.
