In collaboration with the New Pathways Foundation, the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) is producing a video series that focuses on various health and wellness professions. The aim is to get First Nations and Inuit youth interested in the professions available to them, while introducing them to role models they can identify with.
With this in mind, we are looking for First Nations or Inuit individuals who would like to speak to us about their professions, the aspects of their work they like best, and their educational background.
Examples of targeted professions and qualifications:
- Dental assistant
- Wastewater treatment operator
- Medical records technician
- Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation (e.g., physiotherapy, kinesiology, speech therapy)
- Bachelor’s degree in psychoeducation

Other relevant information:
- Shooting date and location: In May, in Québec City (to be confirmed based on participants’ availability).
- Shooting length: About a half-day.
- Financial compensation will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
- The finished videos will be about three minutes long. They will be shared on social media (Facebook, Instagram) and the New Pathways Foundation and FNQLHSSC websites.
- Application deadline: August 2, 2024
