CRÉA Kitci Amik celebrates 10-year anniversary

There is no age limit to learning

It was after the First Nations Socioeconomic Forum held in Mashteuiatsh in 2006 that the Government of Quebec created the First Nations Adult Education School Council, aiming to set up dedicated education centres for Indigenous people.

The CRÉA Kitci Amik adult education centre opened in 2012 in the Anishnabe community of Lac-Simon and has since extended its activities into two more pavilions in Pikogan and Val-d’Or.

Established specifically for First Nations people, CRÉA Kitci Amik was designed to be a safe and inspiring space to provide people with education and meet the needs of their communities. With a focus on team spirit, self-confidence and skills development, CRÉA Kitci Amik has helped many Indigenous adults successfully enter or re-enter the workforce!
