Information session concerning the Order in Council on mandatory vaccination
Contextualization
For several weeks now, the Governments of Quebec and Canada have announced their intention to impose double vaccination against COVID-19 on certain categories of workers in the public and private sectors. A first legal measure was taken by the Government of Quebec with Order in Council No. 1276-2021 on September 24, 2021 (order on mandatory vaccination) requiring that many workers in the health and social services sector be adequately protected against COVID-19 in order to be able to exercise their functions starting from October 15, 2021.
The FNQLHSSC has entrusted the mandate of analyzing this Order in Council and producing a legal opinion aimed at determining its scope among the First Nations in Quebec to David Schulze, founding partner of the Dionne Schulze law firm.
Holding of information sessions
In order to adequately inform leaders, professionals and practitioners working in First Nations communities on the application conditions of the Order in Council on mandatory vaccination, the FNQLHSSC will be holding two virtual information sessions (one in French and one in English), accompanied by a lawyer, Mr. David Schulze. He will explain the scope of the Order in Council among the health and social services workplaces located in the communities in addition to answering your questions. An information note will also be produced.
You are invited to participate in one of two one-hour information sessions that will be taking place next week:
- The session in French will take place on October 13, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- The session in English will take place on October 14, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
