The McLean Foundation supports charitable organizations in Canada that help make life more fulfilling, communities more vibrant and our environment more durable. The grants generally go up to $15,000.

Health and wellness

Senior Indigenous Program Advisor The Canadian Red Cross is now hiring a Senior Indigenous Program Advisor. The Senior Indigenous Program Advisor will serve as a subject‑matter expert for the development and implementation of a strategy and programs in collaboration with Indigenous communities in Quebec, working in support of and in close coordination with various teams.

Family Violence Initiative Fund

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Vulnerable Persons Unit distribute funding to non-profit community organizations, as well as to Indigenous organizations, to support communities in responding to ─ and reducing incidents of ─ family violence.

It allows for the development of resources, tools and information to educate on the prevalence, and dynamics of, family violence and encourage victims and witnesses to seek assistance.

The application period is open until Friday, March 27, 2026. 

Aboriginal Community Safety Planning Initiative

The Aboriginal Community Safety Planning Initiative supports Indigenous communities addressing local safety and crime prevention concerns with the goal of strengthening community well-being and resilience.

First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement 

On March 10, 2025, the first Claims Period opened, marking an important step for impacted individuals seeking compensation and recognition. One year later, the work to support Claimants continues. 

Reports — Future of Sport in Canada Commission

The Commission’s Final Report will be published on March 24, 2026. The Commission is grateful to all those who have come forward to share their insights and perspectives on safe sport and the sport system in Canada.

Engagement Report – First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Sustainable Development Institute

This report is part of the Climate Resilient Health Systems Initiative, an engagement project  funded  by  Indigenous  Services  Canada (ISC) under  Canada’s  National  Adaptation Strategy.

The objective is to better understand the gaps and needs related to climate change in health services funded or provided by ISC, in order to increase their resilience.
