On December 11, the community of Manawan celebrated the official opening of the Metabeskeka Project, a new initiative designed to support people experiencing homelessness.

This resource offers a safe, stable, and welcoming living environment with fully furnished apartments that allow participants to take a break, refocus, and rebuild their lives in an environment conducive to wellness.

Funded largely by the Reaching Home Program, which is based on the Indigenous distinctions-based approach, the project offers support tailored to the realities of community members. Its objective is to facilitate a transition towards better health, greater autonomy, and overall wellness.

In total, eight apartments have been furnished and equipped to accommodate residents for a period of six to twelve months, providing them with the time, stability, and support they need to look to the future with confidence.
