In this document presented as a response to Bill no. 96: An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec, the AFNQL and its regional commissions and organizations address the negative impacts that remain ongoing with the new draft of the Charter of the French Language proposed by the government of Québec. First Nations have been fending off assimilative measures concerning their Indigenous languages and cultures for decades. They propose several amendments to enforce their inherent rights.
