The impact of FASD has been shown in the literature to be a serious public health concern in some communities. Aboriginal organizations, as well as Federal and Provincial governments, have made Aboriginal FASD a priority and as a result, a number of programs have been established to reduce the incidence of FASD and provide long-term treatment.At the same time, the published academic literature is relatively silent on some dimensions of FASD.
