On November 25, on the occasion of the Grand Economic Circle of Indigenous People and Quebec organized by the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission, the results of the FNLED Survey were officially unveiled.
Note that the objective of the FNLED Survey is to paint a portrait of the labour and employment situation in the First Nations communities across Canada. To do this, the following 15 communities from seven nations in Quebec participated in the data collection that took place from January 2019 to February 2020: Ekuanitshit, Gesgapegiag, Kanesatake, Kawawachikamach, Kebaowek, Kitcisakik, Lac-Simon, Manawan, Pakua Shipu, Pessamit, Pikogan, Uashat mak Mani-Utenam, Unamen Shipu, Wemotaci and Wendake.
In total, seven thematic booklets were produced, including one on the methodology:
- Culture, identity, language and wellness
- Sociodemographic profile and life course
- Education, skills and aspirations
- Success factors and obstacles to employment
- Occupation and employment
- Income and needs satisfaction
These booklets as well as the FNLED Survey collection and a highlight video are now available on the FNQLHSSC documentation centre.
Finally, the FNQLHSSC would like to thank the communities, respondents, interviewers and its partners:
