Compensation : Final settlement between AFN and Government of Canada
AFN reached a final settlement worth $20 billion to compensate First Nations children and families who experienced discrimination under the First Nations Child and Family Services (FNSFS) program and Jordan’s Principle.

Survey – A Distinct First Nations Accessibility Law
The AFN wants to hear from you as we continue important work to engage and to gather input from First Nations persons with disabilities, First Nations governments, and the regions, technicians, and service providers, among others, to consider the options for building A Distinct First Nations Accessibility Law and to gauge the level of awareness about the Accessible Canada Act.

Senate News – Call for applications
Just in time for National Indigenous History Month, the Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples has launched Voices of Youth Indigenous Leaders 2022. This program invites young Indigenous leaders to share how they interpret truth and reconciliation.
INSPQ – Indigenous Health
The research monitoring is conducted by the Indigenous Health team at INSPQ. Scientific publications are chosen for review based on their relevance to public health action pertaining to Indigenous health in Quebec, specifically with respect to health promotion, the prevention of disease and psychosocial disorders, and the reduction of social inequalities in health.
A step forward for Nunavik Self-Determination in Research Governance
Following years of planning and regional consultations, Nunavik organizations approved the establishment of a new research governance entity for the region.
