Press conference about the Loi de la protection sociale atikamekw d’Opitciwan

On behalf of the Conseil des Atikamekw d’Opitciwan, the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) and the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC), we are pleased to invite you to an important press conference to celebrate, in the company of several guests and media representatives, a historic move forward for First Nations families and children: the adoption and implementation of the Loi de la protection sociale atikamekw d’Opitciwan.

A first in the province, this Act allows the Opitciwan community to be totally autonomous in matters of child protection, in accordance with An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families.
