Wendake, July 18, 2024 – In parallel with the pre-annual general assembly (pre-AGA) and the 2024 annual general assembly (AGA), community and organization representatives had the pleasure of getting together at the Entourage sur-le-Lac Hotel to celebrate the FNQLHSSC’s 30th anniversary.
Following the elections, we are very pleased to announce the members of the FNQLHSSC Board of Directors:
President: Derek Montour, from Kahnawake
Vice-President of Health: David McLaren, from Kebaowek
Vice-President of Social Services: Amanda Larocque, from Gesgapegiag
Secretary-Treasurer: Eniko Neashish, from Wemotaci

The FNQLHSSC is deeply grateful to the Board members for their unwavering commitment and exemplary dedication to the organization, and to First Nations communities and organizations. It also extends a sincere thank you to the outgoing members, wishing them much success and fulfillment in their future endeavours.

During the pre-AGA, participants attended a workshop and plenary sessions on the First Nations governance process. The main topics were the governance structure and its components, as well as political mobilization and the role of directors at the local and collective levels.
In the evening, participants enjoyed a cocktail and a banquet in celebration of the FNQLHSSC’s 30th anniversary, with “Our Cultures, Our Wellness” as the theme. Guests had the opportunity to meet new people, expand their network, and speak to the employees of the organization. They also enjoyed the various activities offered on-site. Artistic performances and speeches rounded out the evening, adding a special touch to this memorable celebration.
During the AGA, President Derek Montour presented his activity report, the new 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, and the FNQLHSSC’s new corporate visual. For her part, the Executive Director, Marjolaine Siouï, presented the FNQLHSSC’s annual report and the priority projects for 2024-2025.
