BAPHE Proposal Writing Webinar
The First Nations Baseline Assessment Program on Health and the Environment (BAPHE) Secretariat is hosting two (2) Proposal Writing Webinars (English and French) for the 2025-2026 Call for Proposals on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. During the webinars, the BAPHE Secretariat will introduce the funding program and provide information and guidance on how to develop an application for the 2025-2026 Call for Proposals.

The community-based stream of the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal grant that supports community-based projects that are designed by seniors for seniors. The FNQLHSSC is thrilled to launch its very first English podcast: Healing Hearts, Healing Homes. Indigenous Peoples Survey (IPS) : New publications
Statistics Canada released results from the Indigenous Peoples Survey (IPS). The IPS is a national survey on the social and economic conditions of First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit, and the theme of the 2022 IPS is Indigenous Children and Families. Here are the three new publications:
- First Nations children living off reserve, Métis children and Inuit children and their families, 2022.
- Indigenous Peoples Survey–Nunavut Inuit Supplement, 2022.
- First Nations children living off reserve, Métis children, and Inuit children and their families: Selected findings from the 2022 Indigenous Peoples Survey.

Barriers to access Indian Residential School records persist: Senate report
The report, titled Missing Records, Missing Children, highlights the barriers that prevent Indigenous peoples from locating, accessing, and reviewing historical records. Read the report.
CMA’s apology to Indigenous Peoples – Watch the livestream
On Sept. 18, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will publicly apologize for its role, and the role of the medical profession, in the past and ongoing harms to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in the health system. The ceremony will be held in Victoria, BC, on the traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋiʔnəŋ speaking people of Songhees and Xwsepsum Nations.
You are invited to join virtually to witness the apology. The livestream will take place from 1–2:30 pm Pacific Time and will be offered in English and French. Registration for the livestream is not required.
