Given the significant disparities between the health and social services received by First Nations and non-First Nations people in Quebec and the rest of Canada, the FNQLHSSC is very concerned about the living conditions of First Nations elders and the advancement of knowledge and practices in the field of aging. Over the past few years, the FNQLHSSC has consulted with First Nations on multiple occasions to shed light on the needs of elders and the challenges they face. Based on these consultations, recommendations have been developed to improve the quality of life and wellness of elders and people with decreasing independence.
