For several years, the FNQLHSSC has supported the personnel from First Nation communities and organizations in the implementation of local, regional and national programs or initiatives. To achieve this, several approaches and tools have been developed. The lack of a common framework shared by all operational sectors presents the following observations:
• Certain employees are having difficulty understanding their role and fulfilling their respective mandates.
• There is a risk of duplication of efforts when designing tools and developing accompaniment strategies and a risk of inconsistency in the accompaniment provided by various sectors.
• Assessing the effectiveness of actions taken by the FNQLHSSC may be more difficult.
In this light, FNQLHSSC Management has proposed the creation of an internal working group to draft an Accompaniment Framework for First Nation communities and organizations. This Framework reflects the common values advocated by the FNQLHSSC and also takes into account its mission and the mandates conferred.
